Anisotropic stress relief mechanism

We have studied, in collaboration with Stanford University, the crystal structure of La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 (LSMO), a fully spin polarized conductor, coherently strained to an NdGaO3 crystal. Our results demonstrate that the orthorhombic structure has different possibilities for stress relief. The results are published in Applied Physics Letters. ... read more

Control crystal orientation of PZT on Si

Ferroelectric properties have been linked to the structure of different crystallographic oriented PZT thin films on silicon substrates. It is shown that, by introducing an extra step in the deposition process, an orientation switch from (110) to (001)-oriented growth of electrodes and films on similar buffer layers can be realized. The results are published in APL. ... read more
